Learning disability and dementia training course
Our course, for up to 20 of your staff, is
designed for professionals in health, social care, social work, allied health,
and third sector roles. We aim to build a sustainable workforce that moves away
from ‘reinventing the wheel’ with every dementia diagnosis. We equip managers and staff with the practical
knowledge and confidence required to bring about immediate change in practice,
which enhances the quality of life and support for individuals with a learning
disability.
Aims
- To enable attendees to
provide individualised, practical and evidence-based support for people
with a learning disability and dementia.
- To develop the knowledge
and confidence to plan ahead for people ageing with a learning disability.
- To enable you to
demonstrate how your organisation is meeting national or local dementia
standards and regulations in relation to diversity, equality and equity.
What will you gain?
- One day of training delivered by Dr Karen Watchman, CEO of
SquarePeg Training, and informed by expert advisors with a learning
disability.
- Online access to the SquarePeg toolkit containing a range of
resources and practical guides. The password to access the toolkit is
provided to course attendees after the training.
- Practical tools and strategies you can apply immediately.
- An interactive day with opportunities for discussion.
