Carrie Pilgrim

Carrie has over 25 years of nursing experience and is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She began her career in the NHS, where she worked for many years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist across both acute hospital and community healthcare settings. During this time, she developed extensive experience in patient care, clinical governance, and service improvement. She later moved into a senior leadership role as Director of Nursing at a rehabilitation hospital, where she was responsible for clinical quality and patient safety.
Since joining Octopus in 2018, Carrie has played a key role in promoting high standards of care and is responsible for operational oversight across the healthcare portfolio. She works closely with operators and investment teams to ensure that quality, safety, and good governance remain central to the way services are delivered and developed. As Director of the Quality Assurance Team, Carrie leads initiatives that support continuous improvement, clinical oversight, and strong operational standards across the portfolio.
Carrie is also actively involved in wider sector development. She participates in international standards committees and industry conferences, contributing her expertise to discussions on improving quality, sustainability, and best practice in social care. Through this work, she continues to champion high-quality, person-centred care across the sector.
