Michael is Chief Executive of the Brendoncare Foundation, a Hampshire-based charity providing residential care, extra care housing, and community services for older people. Originally trained as a nurse, Michael has worked across health and social care in the NHS, as well as in corporate and charity settings. This mix of experience gives him a broad perspective on what good care — and good leadership — really look like in practice. He brings real “floor to board” experience and is driven by a simple principle: everything we do should make care better for the people we serve. At the heart of Michael’s approach is a focus on making governance work for people, not the other way round — helping teams access and use data quickly, so they can spend less time behind a screen and more time with the people they support and each other. For him, technology should always enable better care, not get in the way of it. Alongside his role at Brendoncare, Michael is Chair of the Hampshire Care Association, where he works with providers, commissioners, and partners to support innovation while navigating the real challenges facing social care today
